Where to use
Cabot Semi-Solid Siding Stains are ideal for use in verticle applications on wood where hiding coverage is desired and penetrating wood protection is needed. It provides an outstanding value as a one-coat finish for recoating previously semi-transparent stained surfaces. Cabot Semi-Solid Stains can be used on most types of smooth and rough exterior wood, including siding, shingles, log homes and roofs. They provide excellent results on reconditioned weathered wood and well-seasoned lumber such as Cedar, Fir, Pine, Cypress, Spruce, Redwood and plywood panel siding.
Features
Cabot Semi-Solid® Stains are richly pigmented, deep penetrating linseed oil-based stains that provide long lasting beauty and wood protection. These unique stains provide greater hiding power than semi-transparent stains, yet their attractive flat finish highlights the natural beauty of the wood's texture. With the extra pigmentation, Cabot Semi-Solid Stains are extremely durable and help protect wood against the sun's damaging ultraviolet rays. Semi-Solid #1100 series is richly pigmented, environmentally friendly and 100% acrylic resin-based; which can be easily cleaned with soap & water. Acrylic Stains provide long-lasting, vapor-permeable and UV protection that beautifies and enriches exterior wood surfaces. Formulated with non-fading, earth tone pigments to weather slowly over time.
Coverage
On smooth surfaces, approximately 400-600 sq ft per gallon; on rough surfaces, 150-250 sq ft per gallon. Acrylic Stains cover approximately 200-300 sq ft per gallon; on rough surfaces, 100-200 sq ft per gallon. These rates will vary depending upon the porosity of the surface.
